I do AI/ML engineering and data science things.
My research involves applied AI/ML in the animal and human health domains. These days I am also interested in the human-technology interaction side of AI/ML, with a deeper focus on human-centric approaches.
I've collaborated with pharmaceutical companies on social media listening initiatives, using AI/ML to analyse public discourse and extract meaningful insights, some of which are available on Google Scholar. I've also worked with startups through the vHive Animal Health Incubator on projects involving computer vision, wearable technology, and sensor-based systems, building and validating AI/ML algorithms for real world deployment. My experience spans collaborations with niche innovators as well as larger multinational organisations.
I also guest lecture for AI and AI Programming at the University of Surrey, School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, introducing neural networks.
I completed my PhD in AI/ML for digital pathology where my research focused on deep learning and computer vision for grading tasks in canine sarcoma biopsy images. I also hold an MSc in Data Science from City, University of London and a BA (Dual Hons) in Economics and Finance from Keele University.
My interests have been shaped by personal experiences, and I choose to work on projects (both tech and non-tech) that genuinely matter to me:
🔬 Computational pathology: Most of my research has focused on computational pathology, applying and developing AI/ML models for the animal and human health domains.
🌾 Farming and nature: Protecting and providing for future generations is something I care about immensely. This is especially true in the context of farming and planting lots of trees.
💸 Finance and investment accessibility: I'm currently collaborating with investment bankers on a project focused on making investing more accessible and easier to understand. The goal is to simplify complex financial concepts and develop tools that empower more people to make confident financial decisions. Watch this space.
🎗️ Liver health and liver cancer awareness: My father passed away from liver cancer in 2024 and this has left a huge mark on me and my family. We've created the LiverSWAT project at outreach charity NishkamSWAT and are currently fundraising to purchase a FibroScan for liver screening roadshow events around the UK.
